HISTORY:
* Born in 1557 during the Sengoku Period.
* Died in 1582 when she was 25 years old, so she is currently 451 years old.

Mikiyo was a waiting woman for the wife of Lord Oda Nobunaga. She fell in love with a samurai in the household army. The samurai was killed when their lord was assassinated in 1582. She committed seppuku (ritual suicide) to avoid being raped by the invaders and became a kiyohime.

Originally after her transformation, Mikiyo lived as an enraged serpent demon killing soldiers, until a monk stopped her. He bound the demon form with a prayer bracelet made of the bones of holy men. Restored to sanity, she became his pupil and stayed with him until the monk died of old age. Disguising herself as a boy, Mikiyo traveled Japan. She learned whatever she could from whoever would teach her. Eventually, she left Japan and wandered the world.
